ATLANTA, GA (October 21st, 2006) - Old Mutual Financial Network (OMFN) hosted its second annual Charity Golf Challenge on Saturday, October 21st at the North Fulton Golf Club in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. It was a classic fall day with 60 golfing enthusiasts and several volunteers working and playing to benefit Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society. Through generous golf hole sponsorships and cash contributions the event raised $31,578 benefiting cancer research. Last year’s event, hosted by OMFN’s headquarters in Baltimore, set the bar high in the inaugural outing by raising $18,500 to benefit the Baltimore Child Abuse Center.

Funds raised were the result of thirty fellow companies and individuals who generously sponsored the golf challenge. Companies include:
Benefit Architects Inc., The EPIC Marketing Corp, Financial Security Associates, McCamish Systems LLC, Sitetrends Integrated, Old Mutual Bermuda, HSBC, Bank of Bermuda, AMZ Financial Insurance Services, LLC, Asset Marketing Systems Insurance Services, Insurance Technologies, COSS Development Corporation, Perot Systems, 72 DPI, Creative Marketing International Corp, Ann Arbor Annuity Exchange, Elizabeth Phelps (Cancer Survivor), Dressander & Associates, Inc., LTA Marketing Group, Dallas Financial Wholesalers, AIP Marketing Alliance Inc, Clinical Reference Labs, MMS, TAG, APPS, LCG Technologies Corporation, Tarkenton Financial, LLC., Zenith Marketing Group, Inc., Legacy Marketing Group, and Joseph L Gray - UMS

In addition to sponsorships, merchants graciously donated merchandise and services to auction and provide as awards. The top two foursomes were awarded a Scotty Cameron Tavistock putter for each player – donated by the Tavistock Group in Orlando, Florida.

“The event is a tremendous opportunity to contribute to cancer research, celebrate cancer survivors and remember those who lost the fight against cancer,” commented John Phelps, OMFN’s Senior Vice President, Life and Fixed Annuity Distribution and head organizer of the Charity Golf Challenge. “The ability to come together to benefit Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society demonstrates OMFN’s commitment to the local and national community while partnering with our business relationships on multiple levels.”

The 2007 Charity Golf Challenge will be hosted again by OMFN’s Atlanta-based sales operation.
